John Newton founder of Bouncy Castle HirePerth developed and patented the Moving Mouth bouncy castle. This castle was built to increase the product
range and to give a more reactive and interactive experience with the child users.
Bouncy Castle Hire Perth and all the other
jumping J-Jays franchise throughout Australia now operate 300 inflatable’s in
the moving mouth concept where something moves inside using this patent.

Mouth Patent:
It is operated by a timer control switch
located with a fan this allows the interactive unit, to become active and
dormant, at pre set intervals. The example shown causes the mouth to close when
a child is using the ladder inside the mouth whilst accessing the slide portion
of the castle. The result being that the child has the impression of being swallowed
up by the animal mouth inside the castle.
The screams of utter delight we have had from
children during our extensive field testing, assure us we have a winner. The
internal workings of the interactive part of the jumping castle is a variety of
airflow control baffles that when inflated can support the weight of a full
grown adult male quite easily, yet lifts a small child very gently. These same
airflow baffles allow the air to escape quite quickly, and return the
interactive to the dormant position and make the slide accessible again.
